Thee movies, two feelings

I remain, now as ever, apprehensive about both Star Trek: Into Darkness and Thor: The Dark World.
Also, does anyone know whether there's a Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters kink meme?

How did you like Hansel & Gretel?

Hansel & Gretel, on the other hand, was everything I could possibly have wanted in a splatterpunk film -- it was deliciously gorey, over the top, and anachronistic. Renner wore ALL the leather and Atherton's breasts were magical, no one was threatened with rape, and the fight sequences made me happy in a ginormous way. The plot was thin as wet tissue paper and predictable enough to be comforting at the expected twists and turns, and omg I want all of the fic and also kinda maybe understand Stop having inapproptiate sexual chemistry with the actress/actor who plays your sibling, Name!.
PLUS you can tell everyone knows exactly what a B movie it is, and doesn't care, and had a whole lot of fun making the movie. (I'll be buying it on blu-ray because I NEEDS IT and I hope-hope-hope there's commentary.)

Date: 2013-01-30 01:28 am (UTC)I think for me a lot of the hesitancy for Trek comes from the fact that I don't know if they'll explain all the ramifications of what happened in the first film and just *handwave* everything away. And I agree with you on the destruction of the fleet.
LOL, any movie where the cast knows exactly how the movie is going to be perceived and still have fun is always awesome. And I'm pretty much amused when co-stars have chemistry with each other that sometimes undermines the relationships that they are suppose to be having on screen. I remember liking the trailer...though I'm on the fence whether I want to see it in theaters or wait till it comes out on DVD.
